In the context of the ACP (Automóvel Club de Portugal), historically, delegates were local or regional representatives of the club in different cities, municipalities, or districts across the country. Throughout the 20th century, at a time when the road network and motoring organisation were still growing, these delegates played a fundamental liaison role between the head office (in Lisbon) and members spread across Portugal.
They assisted local members with bureaucracy, road traffic matters, and the development of tourism and motor sport in each region, as well as representing the club at official events, meetings, or local festivities.
It shows the normal signs of exposure to the elements with, apart from the fixing holes, only a single patch of rust. Rare, as there were fewer delegates than cars. It has a width of 21.5 cm and a height of 30 cm.
